At CTE Wellbeing, our mission is to empower brain and body through innovation, education, research and non-invasive biotechnology.
Founded upon years of research into Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), cognitive performance and brain health, our aim is to increase awareness of the factors that contribute to cognitive decline whilst providing practical, evidence-based solutions that support wellbeing, performance and resilience.
Through research, educational seminars, consultancy services and advanced cognitive assessment technologies, we seek to bridge the gap between scientific understanding and real-world application. Our work draws upon publicly available scientific literature, academic research and evidence-based methodologies to help individuals and organisations make more informed decisions regarding brain health, performance and wellbeing.
Innovation remains central to our long-term vision. In addition to cognitive performance technologies, I have independently developed and tested prototype concepts aimed at reducing impact forces within contact sports. One such project involved the design and testing of a sports body armour concept intended to improve player safety without fundamentally changing the nature of the game itself. Rather than removing tackling from rugby and other contact sports, my belief is that innovation should focus on improving the technology available to athletes.
Early prototype testing demonstrated encouraging reductions in transmitted impact forces, supporting further exploration of advanced impact-management technologies. This work subsequently led to wider research into kinetic energy management, material design and what I termed “kinetic refraction”—a concept exploring how impact energy may be redirected, dispersed or reduced through innovative structural design principles.
These investigations have also generated broader concepts with potential applications extending beyond sport, including occupational safety, protective equipment and future engineering challenges. Whilst many of these concepts remain at the research and development stage, they reflect CTE Wellbeing’s commitment to innovation, challenging conventional thinking and developing practical solutions that support human performance, safety and wellbeing.
CTE Wellbeing is committed to supporting positive change across sport, business, education and the wider community. Whether through workplace wellbeing initiatives, performance analysis, contractual consultancy or public awareness programmes, our objective is to help organisations place long-term cognitive health and human performance at the centre of their decision-making.
Our long-term vision is to establish one of Europe’s leading centres for cognitive performance, wellbeing and brain health, providing innovative, non-invasive assessment, educational and research services that empower individuals and organisations to perform at their very best. With sports based platforms in armour alone within the NFL function this could achieve huge benefits in what is a 7.5 Billion dollar industry alone.
